Ingredients:

To make Indian Masala Chai you can use any of your desired spices like:

  • Cinnamon

  • Ginger

  • Cardamom

  • Black pepper

  • Star anise

  • Fennel

  • Nutmeg

  • Saffron

  • Peppercorn, etc.

The spices add many distinct flavors to the tea and you can adjust the spices as per your wish to customize the taste of your tea. You will also need ingredients like:

  • Milk

  • Tea leaves

  • Sugar as per taste

Everyone has their own eccentric ways of making Indian Masala Chai, but there are two basic recipes that most people follow. The first preparation method is comparatively easy and you can use it to instantly brew your beloved cup of tea with just 3 to 4 basic spices. The spices are crushed and then simmered with the milk and tea.

The second one is excellent if you wish to have masala chai regularly. To make this, ground your whole spices in a jar and store them. When needed add the mixture to your everyday milk tea and simmer it for a while.


Preparation Process-1

  • For this take 2 to 3 masala cloves, cinnamon, and 4 green cardamoms and grind them for making the chai powder.

The second process is just similar to the first one, but unlike the first method, you don’t have to use whole spices. If you drink masala chai regularly then you can make the masala chai powder in a large quantity and store it in a glass jar.
